Control restored. Accountability clarified.
The externalised Portfolio CTO and CISO function for mid-market private equity, and senior intervention for corporate technology and cyber under pressure.
Two audiences, one operating model
Where we work
Private Equity Solutions
The institutional model the largest funds run internally — portfolio-wide standards, framework compliance, audit rights, no operational responsibility — delivered as a fractional Portfolio CTO/CISO function for mid-cap sponsors.

Senior intervention when a function has stopped working, the board has lost confidence, or a regulator, auditor, or insurer has issued a warning. Department resets, run-state optimisation, cost rationalisation, and senior interim coverage.

Our approach
Design for how the business actually runs
Commercial first
The objective is stronger performance and lower cost, not transformation theatre. We measure success by operational outcome, not deliverable count.
Proportionate by business
Every model is calibrated to the actual risk, complexity, and economics. We do not apply a standard framework and call it done.
Diagnosis to execution
We move from assessment into action where the facts justify it. No endless strategy phases — accountable delivery from the start.
Operator-led
We work alongside leadership teams to make decisions, unblock execution, and carry change through. Advice matters only when it can be implemented in the real business.
AI-native by design
We treat AI as an operating capability, not a side project. That means identifying where AI and automation create real value, and building the data and governance foundations that let those gains hold. We assess AI risk with the same discipline as any other control, and we advise on governance where regulators are looking.
Across the PE lifecycle
One relationship from pre-deal to exit.
01 · Pre-deal DD
Decision-grade technology, cyber, and AI reality assessment under deal-process compression.
02 · 100-day plans
Operating model, sequenced priorities, and reporting cadence after acquisition.
03 · Portfolio CTO/CISO oversight
Hold-period standards, framework compliance, and audit rights at portfolio company level.
04 · Exit readiness
12 to 18 months out: the technology and cyber narrative the next buyer will pay for.

WGSN — Apax Partners
Apax engaged George to stabilise the digital asset within the EMAP group. Over a ~12-month engagement, George diagnosed the problem, replaced the CTO, and stabilised the platform and team. The fund judged the engagement successful and the value of the asset was protected ahead of exit.
Kinetic — Inflexion
Inflexion asked George to coach the CEO of the world's largest agricultural-data provider through the shift from manual Excel-and-PowerPoint delivery to a scalable digital service model — moving the operating model from service to platform and unlocking growth.
ASOS — cybersecurity rebuild
As Group CISO, George rebuilt the cybersecurity function from a weak posture and a cyber-as-a-service model that was not returning tangible improvements, into a defensible operation covering fraud, payments, identity, and incident response.
ASOS — AI fraud platform
The AI-driven fraud platform George introduced at ASOS paid back in three months. Approval rates improved, fraud losses fell, and the team was right-sized from 48 to 8 as automation took on the operational load. One of the earliest production deployments of AI for retail fraud at scale.
A €20bn global retailer
As Group CTO and CISO, George moved the Gartner CIO score from 1.0 to 3.0 minus in 24 months. Alongside, Dan led the IT transformation function delivering ~€150m in cost savings and drove >€10m in cyber run-rate savings and >€15m in fraud-loss exposure reduction.
LEGO Group
As Director of Cybersecurity, Dan developed and executed the Cybersecurity Strategy 2025–2027, delivered NIS2 readiness across factory and energy-generation operations, and directed BC/DR and ransomware recoverability validation.
